Well sort of. Actually it was an article in the Chicago Tribune the other day about my pal Dan’s awesome blog, waffleizer, in which he very kindly gave me a flattering shout out. If you’re not familiar with waffleizer, well you should be. It gives you reason to dust off that waffle iron you only lug out for Father’s Day.
Dan emailed me right around the holidays telling me about “his new ridiculous idea” for a blog and asked if I’d like to participate. Of course, I agreed before I really knew what it was all about. Something ridiculous? Hell yeah! His mission is to answer the question that pesters us all, “will it waffle?” As we’ve come to discover, yes. Yes, it will! I’m a big fan. In fact, waffled hash browns have changed my life. The post on pretzels makes me giggle uncontrollably. And the waffleburgers! One look and you’ll be rooting around in your garage for that long lost waffle iron.
For my entry, I made Indian flatbreads – aloo paranthas – just for kicks and according to Dan, they were most delicious. Check it out – here’s a bunch of links to the article (including a rare pic of the man behind the iron!), my post about the process and his post with my recipe. Sometimes you just have to do something silly. If it’s delicious too, well that’s just a big fat bonus.
Congratulations ! This is great 🙂
LOL Too funny, you’re right, I do have to go out and try it now.
